Summertime is such an outdoor time that most people don’t think about including posters. After all, they don’t make much of a pool float. :0)
I love the many kinds of posters that are available today. Because of that, I started thinking about using posters as part of your summer decor. You know, your christian witness never goes on vacation. In summer, people are gathering together for backyard cookouts and pool parties. Why not place a cool new poster in an entryway where you know people will see it? It’s silent witness will speak volumes when someone is waiting to use the restroom or change their clothes.

As much as we welcomed the first chill of Winter, it often over stays its welcome. March means Spring is on the way. In Florida where I live, the oaks and azaleas have been blooming and many people are fighting allergies. You go outside for a while but have to return inside to let your system adjust. I used to live in New York State and this time of year often meant gray skies for long periods of time.
Whatever your situation, you don’t have to wait for Spring to enjoy it’s fullness. All of creation displays the handiwork of its Creator and having scripture boldly printed on a poster isn’t the only way to glorify God. Simply displaying an awesome picture of His handiwork can boost your spirits and remind you of His goodness. Why not bring the brightness of Spring into your home decor? Posters are affordable and make a sufficient impact chase the winter blues. What a great way to tide you over until Spring has fully come! Who knows, maybe someone will ask why you are in such a good mood and you can share your testimony and all because you got a jump start on Spring.

A New Year invariably brings the resolution to change something in our lives. There are so many things to work on. Some people take another crack at losing weight while others might be determined to finally organize their household. Whatever it is that you are staring in the face, you will be more successful if you tell someone about it. You see, all of us think that we will just make the change alone and let others discover our success. Unfortunately, we are all to adept at rationalizing away our good intentions. When we tell someone else what we are doing, they can help us through those sticky places where we failed before. Just be sure to pick someone who is very encouraging to you. Even better, find someone who is working on a task of their own and you can be mutually accountable.
Another strategy is to buy a motivational poster and put it where you will see it everyday. When you make it a daily practice to read positive words, you are defeating that inner voice that seems to delight in our failure. Remember, Philipeans 4:8 says:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Have you considered using a poster as the central focal point of your holiday celebration? Sure everyone knows Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus, but does it seem to get lost at your house? It’s very easy to decorate around a Christmas poster and you will be surprised at your family’s reactions.
