A New Year invariably brings the resolution to change something in our lives. There are so many things to work on. Some people take another crack at losing weight while others might be determined to finally organize their household. Whatever it is that you are staring in the face, you will be more successful if you tell someone about it. You see, all of us think that we will just make the change alone and let others discover our success. Unfortunately, we are all to adept at rationalizing away our good intentions. When we tell someone else what we are doing, they can help us through those sticky places where we failed before. Just be sure to pick someone who is very encouraging to you. Even better, find someone who is working on a task of their own and you can be mutually accountable.
Another strategy is to buy a motivational poster and put it where you will see it everyday. When you make it a daily practice to read positive words, you are defeating that inner voice that seems to delight in our failure. Remember, Philipeans 4:8 says:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Christmas is coming and sometimes it’s hard to figure out what to give parents and/or grown children that they will really like. Last year I gathered together a bunch of family recipes. I made sure each of the girls had given me one of their favorites. For Christmas, I compiled them into little books. I think that was one of their all time favorite gifts.
This year I am thinking about taking a picture of the house they grew up in and using it as the focal point for a poster. I might make a collage of family pictures or use the recipe theme or even something like family pets. Find a scripture that speaks to family and loving each other and I’ll have an inspirational poster that I hope they will keep forever.
We tend to think the family landmarks will be there forever but everything changes. Before you know it, our children are trying to show their children what it was like where they grew up. As grandparents, we are honorary “keepers of the memories”. What a precious way to pass them on.
If this sounds hard, it’s easier than you might think. Internet sites like Zazzle.com
have people who would be glad to help you with your project or you can even do it yourself!

I posted a page on Hubpages today about using Christian Posters to teach scripture passages to young children. Not to leave my friends hanging, I am going to recommend some places they can find customized content for reasonable prices.
The first place you can try is Zazzle. When you go there, it is going to look like there is a lot of content to sort through. RELAX. If you type the words christian posters in the search box, it will pull up a bunch of great looking posters. Most of them can be customized with your information. If you want to choose your own scripture to put on the poster, simply choose something like nature posters to find an appropriate one. One of the best things about Zazzle is their unconditional guarantee. If you don’t like it, they will take it back - even if it was personalized.
One more bonus, if you find something you love, it can usually be printed on almost anything. As Martha Stewart would say, “It’s a good thing.”
If you try them, be sure to let me know what you think.
